MissionFamily
Ministries Center exists to provide counseling, teaching, curriculum
and consultation consistent with biblically-based principles.
Vision statement
Our
vision is to strengthen individuals, couples, families psychologically
and relationally so that they may be able to fully realize their
potential as God intended. Family Ministries Center also seeks to
provide teaching, research, curriculum and consultation to
institutions, primarily to churches, secondarily to para-church
organizations and thirdly, to secular institutions to strengthen their
ability to enrich individuals, couples and families under their care.
We seek to serve first those in Hawaii and secondarily those outside
the State.
Guiding principles
We
are sustained by the will of the Lord through the power of the Holy
Spirit who gives us the wisdom to do our work and who draws people to
seek our services.
We
believe that our counsel to and curriculum for individuals, couples,
families and institutions must be consistent with biblical principles.
We believe that the Lord can work through us to assist Christians from various denominations, as well as to assist non-believers, since Christ loved all people.
We believe that churches and institutions that function to a significant degree through small groups (e.g., mini-church, family groups, care groups, ohana group) are a special priority to Family Ministries Center.
We believe that we must carry out every aspect of Family Ministries Center (i.e., counseling, teaching, curriculum development, consultation, research financial, etc.) with a commitment to excellence and integrity.
We believe that marriage was intended by God to be a permanent, lifelong relationship between a man and a woman regardless of trials, sickness, financial reverses or emotional stresses that may occur. Moreover, we believe the gift of sexual intimacy is exclusive to marriage.
We believe that human life is of inestimable worth and significance in all its dimensions, including the unborn, the aged, the widowed, the mentally handicapped, the unattractive, the physically challenged and every other condition in which humanness is expressed from conception to the grave. Moreover, we believe that all individuals have the right to be treated with dignity and respect.
